Maybe the River can set up a booth next year and sell "restraint on a stick". Of course, we'll need to sell x-small, small and medium and forgoe large and x-large, as that would be a good example of restraint. :)

Good Morning Son
Just finished reading your Nehemiah article and the Garden of the Gods.
I revel in Gods greatness ever morning as I top the little hill on Woodman and view the Peak and then the view of kissing camels and the park.
You did a good job.
Hope all is well with you, Julie and my grand chrildren.
Went to Justin,s football game last night. They lost but he had a good game. Grandfather's insight.

Love you son
Pray for you all every day

Great reminder, Rob. I sense that this generation, though, sees truth as a moving target. What's true for me may not be true for them. This generation needs to know that Jesus is THE truth, not just A truth!

Thanks for the good point. I was thinking about water chestnuts too. Most Americans have never tasted the sweet pulpy goodness of a fresh water chestnut. Too often I think I am settling for the canned fruit/nut. I look forward to Sunday!

This was indeed a great event! Rob you went "above and beyond" in your commitment to be in the community. I trust that this will be just one example of how The River can "Be the Current."

I really appreciate how you preach out of the Old Testament. It seems to me that it is largely ignored in our forward thinking society. A lot of people say that because Jesus was the new covenant that the OT is no longer applicable to our lives and our Christian development. However, in my OT history class, we learned that Jesus didn't bring a new covenant but that he was the fulfillment of the Abrahamic or Mosaic covenant of the OT. So I really like how you preach out of the OT. It's refreshing.
