Get Involved

Every member of the Body of Christ has been blessed with unique skills and gifts. Part of being obedient to the Great Commission and continuing Christ’s work is actively serving in Christ’s Body whether it be in the church or in the local community. Here you will find some exciting volunteer opportunities at The River Alliance Church and in the community. If you are interested in serving in any way please contact Rob Mapstone.

In The Church

Nursery

Every child who enters our church deserves to be valued and loved; we offer childcare on Sunday mornings in order to bless both the children and their families. As part of the nursery team, you will be responsible for caring for infants and toddlers and have the opportunity to reflect Christ’s love to them and their families. If you are interested in helping with nursery, please email bpellatzriver@gmail.com.

Brooks

Brooks is our Sunday morning children’s church for kids in preschool through 1st grade. During the sermon they play games, do crafts, and are taught a Bible lesson specificially created for their level of maturity.

Streams

Streams is our Sunday morning children’s church for kids from 2nd through 6th grade. During the sermon they work on memory verses and grow in their understanding of God and their relationship with Him through lessons specifically created for their level of maturity.

Worship Team

Spirit-filled worship is an important part of the ministry at The River Alliance Church, and we are always wanting to include people who have a passion for using their musical talents to worship Jesus Christ on our worship team.

In The Community

Envision Twin Cities

The Twin Cities has become home to many displaced people groups. 1 out of 6 people in the Twin Cities are first or second-generation immigrants. In 2015 and 2016, refugees arrived in Minnesota from Somalia, Burma, Iraq, Ethiopia, Bhutan, Congo, Ukraine, Syria, Liberia, the former Soviet Union, and more. There are an estimated 77,000 Somali people in the Twin Cities—more than anywhere else in the country. St. Paul has the largest Hmong community in the United States. The Liberian population in the Twin Cities is some of the largest in America. St. Paul has a growing population of Karen, a minority group from Burma, currently the largest in the USA.

The purpose of Envision Twin Cities is to equip and to assist district churches in reaching out to the refugee and immigrant communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the goal of planting churches in the refugee and immigrant communities as people come to faith and are discipled. We want to help the local church in building relationships with refugees and other immigrants through meeting their basic needs.

If you would like to volunteer or get more information, please contact us.
